Friends,

I seem to be in a bit of a "funk" over my disease. Having gone from treatments every two weeks to every four weeks, to every three weeks, to every two weeks again, I am starting to go to Pity Party mode. My chances of ever being the first person to visit Saturn, join the peace corps or just get lost in the Australian outbacks seem very remote (well they were probably very remote anyway, but at least it was an option)

So I thought I would list the good things about having Gaucher Disease in an effort not to feel so sorry for myself.

Maybe some of you would like to add or subtract to this list or completely disavow its existence, but If anybody has any suggestions for giving me some "back bone" and just getting on with the thing it is appreciated.

Well here is my Gaucher Gratitude List.
. The wonderful care I receive from Pram Mistry and my infusion nurse Tina.
. The wonderful, funny and talented people who are fellow patients with Gaucher Disease that I have met.
. This marvelous list serve and all the elves that keep it going.
. The ability to see that I am blessed with a treatment and in general good health and mobility.
. The compassion I have for all people with chronic diseases and all I have learned from them on how to cope and be productive and caring individuals.
. My little Whispurr Cat who never leaves my side while I am getting my infusion.
. My work which allows me time to leave and get my infusions.

I have gone on enough and wish you all one stick infusions, happiness and health despite our enzyme challenged genes.

Take Good Care,
The Delawarean Gaucherian (who is feeling quite blue, but is trying to turn herself around.)

Maria
