I was born and grew up in west-central Illinois. I am an Air Force veteran. I have a BA degree in Child, Family & Community Services from the University of Illinois - Springfield. I was employed by the State of Arizona as an Eligibility Interview until retiring 2 years ago.

I am an adult with Gaucher who was diagnosed in 1974 at age of 27. I am the NGF's patient advocate for Arizona. I have spoken at patient support meetings all over the nation. In addition I have spoke at several Genzyme functions.

My doctor and I worked with Dr. Pram Mistry to establish a Gaucher outreach clinic in Arizona. I was involved in the early ERT trails at NIH in the 70's.
